Imagine the prologue to this new version of Little Red’s story. Your introduction will set up Red’s tragic past and hint at her transformation into the woman she has become and the mission she must fulfill.
Imaginez le prologue de cette nouvelle version de l’histoire du Petit Chaperon rouge. Votre introduction présentera le passé tragique de Red et fera allusion à sa transformation en la femme qu’elle est devenue et à la mission qu’elle doit accomplir.
→ Utilisez le prétérit pour parler de l’histoire passée du Petit Chaperon Rouge.
→ Insistez sur la transformation en utilisant les structures suivantes : “not … anymore”; “not… at all” / “used to” / different comparatives / “Now”…
→ Évoquez sa mission en utilisant “have to”.

To what extent did Roald Dahl modernise the tale of Little Red Riding Hood?
2/ Characters : in the two pictures/ in BOTH tales there are a wolf, a grandmother as well as a little red riding hood. HOWEVER, there is no woodcutter in Roald Dahl’s tale.
Accessories : in the traditional tale, LR took/brought a basket of goodies WHEREAS in this new version, she took/ brought a gun!
Time and space: In the two stories/ in both stories, the scene takes place in Grandma’s cottage. However, Roald Dahl’s tale is more recent because LR is holding a gun.
Actions: CONTRARY TO THE TRADITIONAL TALE, IN THIS NEW VERSION THE WOLF SITS ON A CHAIR.
UNLIKE THE TRADITIONAL STORY, IN ROALD DAHL’S STORY LITTLE RED USES A GUN.
IN THE TRADITIONAL STORY SHE IS SURPRISED BY THE WOLF’S BIG TEETH WHEREAS IN DAHL’S VERSION SHE IS SURPRISED BY LITTLE RED’ S GRANDMOTHER’S BEAUTIFUL FURRY COAT!!!

Little Red uses a gun and shoots the wolf. This action is BOTH unexpected and ridiculous
because/as Little Red Riding Hood is only a little girl.
REVERSAL
Little Red Riding Hood kills the wolf.
Little Red Riding Hood kills the wolf.
EXAGGERATION:
LR shoots the wolf with a gun.
The wolf is very very hungry = RAVENOUS. Grandma is not enough, he is still hungry and wants to eat LR because unlike the grandmother she will taste like caviar !
